MUSIC

MUSIC – Piano (Beg.)
Ages 6+ (60 minute class)
This class combines learning music fundamentals and beginning piano playing techniques in a dynamic group setting. Designed for 6-year-olds +, the curriculum provides engaging music that can be played by small hands and fingers and includes learning through exploration and activity. Students perform in a mini-recital at the end of school year. To be eligible for the course, students must be enrolled in kindergarten and be able to read letters (not words) and numbers.  

MUSIC – Piano (Int./Adv.)
Ages 6+ (60 minute class)
Piano lessons for intermediate students will focus on expanding technique (scales), repertoire, theory, and musical refinement. Intermediate students are typically graduated out of using method books and starting to learn more complex pieces of music.

MUSIC – Violin & Viola
Ages 6+ (60 minute class)
All violin lessons focus on developing good posture, holding position, intonation, bow control and technique, sound production, scales, and more. Students are encouraged to bring any recordings of their favorite pieces, or to let their teacher know what they might want to learn to play. Our instructor (Felix Spengler) specializes in developing students to play not only solo music, but also better prepare them for school orchestra auditions.

MUSIC – Vocal & Musical Theatre
Ages 6 – 12 (60 minute class)
Taught by Juliana Polanskaya – world music and crossover singer. This special art of singing program emphasizes the development of proper vocal technique to protect the voice, improve sound production and gain confidence for personal enjoyment or public performances. Students have the opportunity to learn basic posture, breathing, and diction. Special emphasis will be placed on basic stage etiquette and stage pres-ence in an informal atmosphere free of pressure.  Private lessons are a great way for students to develop sophisticated vocal technique, or become exposed to the art of singing.
